• The changes were announced on Tuesday by United Democratic Alliance Party secretary general Cleophas Malala.
President William Ruto received a major boost after six Kenya Kwanza affiliate parties folded to join UDA.
The parties: Umoja na Maendeleo, Farmers Party, Chama Cha Mashinani, Chama cha Kazi, National Agenda Party Of Kenya and Economic Freedom Party will now cease to exist.
The changes were announced on Tuesday by United Democratic Alliance Party secretary general Cleophas Malala.
"As the secretary general of a ruling party, I find pride in seeing our house expand for the better," he said.
"From today, the parties present here are no longer partners but part of the UDA family."
The former senator encouraged the party members to take up an active role in building the UDA.
They will also participate in all UDA activities including the ongoing membership registration drive and the upcoming party grassroots elections come August.
Malala further thanked the parties for what he termed as their selfless decision to shelve their ambition by joining hands with the ruling party.
"My brothers, you will not regret this bold decision. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Watch this space," he said.
Malala has been a man on a mission to merge Kenya Kwanza coalition affiliate parties under the umbrella of UDA as a single party.
The former Kakamega senator noted that joining the parties with the least elected members will make more sense.
"It is not reasonable to have a party with only 10 MCAs or 5 MPs... even speaking economically sense. So it is my humble submission to my Kenya kwanza partners to come on board," he said.
