Media personality Maina Kageni has recalled many of the times he had the pleasure of engaging with the Kibaki family.
Speaking on his recently launched YouTube channel, Maina recounted having interacted with the late President Mwai Kibaki, his wife Lucy Kibaki and their children.
He said he is friends with the family since he went to school with Kibaki's children.
The fist time he met the former President was from when he was still an opposition figure.
They used to play golf in Muthaiga together and the first time he ever met Mwai Kibaki was in his house when Maina was still very young.
"He was the vice president. I am friends with his children. We went to school together, we hang out together, we have done business together," he said adding that he was fortunate enough to play a few rounds with him at Muthaiga Golf club.
Maina described Mwai Kibaki as a fun and a happy gentleman.
Maina said one thing they had in common was that they both enjoyed their drink together.
"Before he became too old for it, he loved his kamwyeso which we had very much in common. It was fun meeting Kibaki."
For his elections, Maina said he worked with Kibaki's children especially his daughter Judy on his presidential elections campaigns.
"I also worked again with her during his re-election of 2007."
Maina also talked about his encounter with the former first lady, Lucy Kibaki describing her as a protective woman who loved her family.
"She was fire as always but very protective about her family. If you threatened to say or do anything against her family, you would have to kill her first. She was a loyal mother, wife and to her family came first above everything else."
