Standard Group-owned station Radio Maisha has suffered yet another major blow after three of their top presenters announced their departure from the station.
On Wednesday, it was officially announced that Breakfast Show host Emmanuel Mwashumbe had ended his relationship with the Mombasa Road-based station.
A farewell party organized by the station allowed the veteran Radio host to bid his colleagues' goodbye.
Mwashumbe joined Radio Maisha after leaving KBC.
On the other hand, Radio Maisha’s Drive show hosts, Billy Miya, and Mbaruk Mwalimu have also announced their departure from Maisha.
The two joined the station back in 2018 after being poached from Milele FM. Before that, they had worked together at Baraka FM and Pwani FM.
“Radio Maisha imenijenga at a personal level. It is going to be bae na najua tutapatana tu hapa,(Radio Maisha has built me at a personal level. It is going to be and I know we will just meet here),” Miya shared.
“Zangu za dhati wandani asante kwa kutujenga,” Mbaruk Mwalimu said.
They have now joined the growing list of journalists who have left Standard Media Group amidst financial constraints.
