Body shaming involves humiliating someone by making inappropriate or negative comments about their body size or shape.

In the recent past, celebrities have been fighting off critics and body-shamers who are always on their case, oozing negativity.

They deal with so much scrutiny about how big, small, not curvy, cellulite or loose their bodies have become, anything deemed a flaw leads to a national reaction.

Just yesterday singer Wahu was body shamed after sharing her latest pictures.

1. Wahu

On February 21, Wahu faced online criticism that prompted her to respond to the cyberbullying.

She called out women whom she slammed for being at the forefront of bullying others.

"So yesterday I posted a picture of myself during the 1st joint committee meeting under the Talanta Hela initiative, saying how excited I was about where we're going....but, what took precedence on that is the amount of weight that I've gained 😏😄Sure i, have added a lot of weight...22.5kgs to be exact 😄 actually, for those who know me, I always add weight when pg. with Tumiso I added 27kgs"

She added; "But I wanted to draw your attention to..in the 1st couple of minutes of the post.. there were quite a number of distasteful comments. unfortunately, many of these were by women. these were overtaken by an overwhelming number of +ve comments, again, the majority being by women. a classic case of good outweighs the bad...so much so that the majority of the "shamers" ended up pulling down their comments.

"Clearly, more and more of us are leaning towards positive vibes on social media, and I thank you for this"

2. Pritty Vishy

The female rapper and content creator has since come into the limelight and faced comments about her looks.

She has been called some very rude names we will not repeat.

He continued by saying even his age has led to being cyberbullied.

“I was just posting to clarify because I have been bullied. People say I do not look my age. People body shame me because I am big-bodied, they assume that my body should be proportional to my age.” he shared

4. Betty Kyallo

The former media personality has always responded to shamers. She always talks about body positivity to KOT.

She once told critics "Wasiokupenda itawacosti 😂 just busy shining. Ain’t got time😎"

She also weighed in after Vera Sidika was shamed as well after a fake surgery PR stunt.

“Our young girls must know that it’s not about people’s perception of us. How we look, dress, and how thick or thin we are, whether light skin or darker.” Betty told.

“They should know never to give power to strangers over how they feel about themselves,” added Betty.

5. Nadia Mukami

The singer and mother of one came under the spotlight after giving birth.

Netizens commented that she had gained weight. Following this, she shared that she is struggling with baby weight and has taken action

"I am trying to get to 60KGs! it's so hard to lose weight! Don't get it twisted I love the new thick me exclusive of mummy pouch, double chin, and my wrestling built-like arms😄 I struggled with my weight, I even don't post a lot of photos and I had so much of client work because I was soo insecure😭

But Now it's Nadia's Time! I have been trying to keep fit because of the performances! Let's say adjusting was sooooo hard for me!! But there are no shortcuts!!! I have to work on being fit! Let's go!!!"

5. Milly and Terence Creative

The couple has been called some very hurtful names online.

Milly told Nation in an interview in 2021 that;

"My husband and I have been body shamed and it has never stopped. At first, it bothered us but we grew a thick skin. I am immune to cyberbullies and If there is one thing I have learnt, is that even if you become the president someone will still hate you,'.

Terence on his part wrote

“SASA CYBER BULLY.

You can call her whatever you want and see whatever you wanna see in her but nothing shall ever blind me from seeing her beautiful soul, a kind and loving woman to me and anyone around her. Very cute @millychebby ❤️❤️”
