Media personality Willis Raburu has revealed doctors had given him a timeline, saying he would have died latest by December 2022.

This was because of his excess weight which had made his veins start narrowing down.

In an interview with BBC News Africa, Raburu says that prompted him to make a change in his lifestyle.

"The doctor said I would not have made it past December 2022.

When I lost my daughter I stress eat so at that point I just spiraled. I was eating everything and in large amounts coupled with drinking.

The day I went to measure I was 164kgs and I couldn't believe it.

The doctor told me from the way my heart was behaving I had blood pressure for a long time.

He told me by the time we got to Christmas I would have gotten a stroke, a heart attack, or something else."

Raburu says it is high time people stopped body shaming others.

In the past, he had tried working out, detoxing, and many other ways to lose weight to no avail.

That is why he choose to have a gastric bypass.

"Fat shaming is unfair because I wake up and sleep in this body.

I walk around in it. How do you think when you tell me what I already know?"

In a new video shared on his YouTube Channel, the Citizen TV reporter disclosed that he has lost 30Kgs so far.

"I started at 164Kgs and last week when I checked I was 134Kgs. That’s 30Kgs down and I haven’t even started going to the Gym yet so watch out," he said.

The 10/10 host also mentioned that his parents and partner Ivy Namu are happy with his weight loss Journey.

“My Dad is happy, my mum is happy and my fiancée is almost happy and I’m happy because when you are healthier you get guaranteed more time with your kids and that was important,”
