Tanzanian singer Ben Pol has bowed to pressure and apologized to his ex-wife Anerlisa Muigai. Taking to his social media pages, Ben Pol said he did not intend to hurt his ex-lover but was instead sharing his experience on the marriage.
"I want to apologize for the things I said about my marriage during my series of interviews with Millard Ayo, which started broadcasting on the 13th of January, 2023. My intention was never to hurt but to share my experience of the marriage, an experience I take full responsibility for," he said.
Ben added that he wanted to articulate how it affected his mental health. He said he will be mindful in speaking about the topic and his experience.
"However, I recognize that my words were hurtful to my ex-wife and I apologize to her and to the public. While I do want to continue to talk about mental health and speak about my experiences, I will strive to do so in a way that is more mindful and more constructive," he said.
On Friday, Ben Pol told Millard Ayo that he did not enjoy his marriage and that it was more about showing off online than enjoying the real benefits of marriage.
"To be honest, I shouldn't be a liar, I didn't really enjoy the marriage. The marriage plans to have children, I've never seen. I didn't see marriage as I do with other people," he said.
The musician however admitted he made more money during his marriage to the Keroche heiress. However, he stated that he feels he may have been used by his ex-wife to achieve her goals in life.
"I feel like I entered the picture to bring that perfection," he said.
Ben Pol and Anerlisa's marriage lasted six months before he filed for divorce.
