Burna Boy had a pretty chaotic performance on January 1, in Nigeria. Fans have taken to social media to bash the singer who came on stage at 3:30 a.m. Nigerian time on January 2, 2022, despite the show being supposed to start at 8:00pm the day before.

The Grammy-winning artiste was to headline the Lagos Loves Damini show on New Year’s Day with the cheapest ticket going for N30,000.

After Burna finally emerged on stage, he also commented about the concert and its failures noting that he would have gone home were it not for another artiste, Seyi Vibes.

He told fans that he loved them in spite of the situation and the online bullying. The delay angered fans who felt that he takes concerts for granted.

“If you like no love me, na God go punish una,"Burna Boy responded about the Lagos Concert.

Fans are even more upset that they paid sh8k for tickets and were robbed of phones and cars were broken into.

The last last singer went ahead to list some of the ways Nigerians had offended him including claiming that he killed someone at a popular Lagos club and that his mother danced for Fela, among other things.

At the same show, the singer kicked a fan who tried climbing on stage to touch him.

Burna then added that despite it all, he loves his fans and God will punish them if they don’t also love him.

But it seems that the singer has had a change of heart and decided to apologise properly to Nigerians and blamed the chaos on poor sound equipment at the venue.

"Lagos, I love you but I can't do this again. The organizational structure and infrastructure is not there for the complexities of my audio and Production needs. Let's be clear. I wasn't late, my band wasn't late. We pride ourselves on being highly professional, especially with our stagecraft."

He went on to explain why he went to the stage late.

"There were three options available to me; wait for audio to be fixed and delay the show, come out at npm as planned with no sound or call breach of contract and pull the plug. I know I can't go all over the world and neglect my own people so I'm taking matters into my own hands! I'm gathering the troops to work on building world-class infrastructure in the Nigerian entertainment business. Investors and stakeholders interested pls hit me up, we need to make some changes."

He went on to apologize to the fans saying,

"I apologise to my fans for how hectic it was, thank you for staying and weathering the storm with me gp I commend my band @fromtheoutsiders for making lemonade with the worst lemons we've ever seen!"
