The Mammito and friends show went down over the weekend to the delight of her legion of fans. The show was sold out according to the star, and well attended by her friends, fans, and Kenyans of goodwill.
However, a section of Kenyans was quick to notice that one person was missing from the audience.
That person is Eddie Butita.
Kenyans asked many questions about why the comedian would skip Mammito's big day.
The questions surrounding his absence were many prompting him to respond.
In an interview with SPM Buzz, Butita defended himself saying multiple events were happening simultaneously.
"I won't blame that on jet lag. That day there were so many events, which is a good thing that the industry is opening up. Me not being there was not intentional "
He said hosting the international get-together took up a lot of time, and he couldn't make it.
"It ended about 10/11 and I was in Westland's Pride Inn, so by that time Mammitos show was over If it had ended early I would definitely have attended" he continued
Butita on the same day also attended Nasra Yusuf's modest fashion show after the gig he hosted. He defended his action by saying fashion shows go through the night.
"I went there kidogo then I went to Laugh festival. I wanted to pass through all the shows because the industry is growing and it's wonderful and I really appreciate that milestone "
He praised Mammito for selling out her show.
"I saw she sold out. That's a good thing man I was so happy for her"
Butita thinks people are complicating the fact that he did not make it to her show.
"Mi ningeneda Nadhani ni vile schedule iligongana"
Kenyans online are speculating that he did not attend because she did not support his last public show
"It wasn't an invites show, I was just a comedian performing at that show I was only performing there. I am so sure I am not even sure if she came to Laughs and Jazz coz maybe alikuwa ameshikana tu, there's nothing much"
"You know what happens this is comedy when you do a show and the other persons show we are getting opportunities for everyone so as far as the industry is concerned if you don't see me attending an event haina complications, hakuna uadui"
He insisted that it was just conflicting schedules.
