'A conversation needs to be had about HR,' Fired NTV anchor, Mark Masai

He spoke regarding reports that alleged he was fired from NTV after 14 years of service.

Former NTV anchor Mark Masai has said that there is a need for a conversation about Human resources and how operations can be managed better.

He said this in an mid morning post on his Twitter page. It is below;

On December 2 through his official Twitter account, Mark said he enjoyed his stay at the Kimathi street-based media house but will be back soon.

"NTV Kenya is a great team! These are different times. Was a great show. Time for short a commercial break. I'll be back! #FadeToBlack #StayTuned," he tweeted.

In a Nation Media Group internal memo seen by the Star, the management said the refocus will result in a reorganisation of the workforce.

“This is an extremely difficult decision given the prevailing business environment,” the memo read.

“This exercise will be carried out with utmost dignity and in accordance with the Labour Laws of Kenya. We will strive to provide all the necessary support to help those affected to manage the transition.”

Mark had on July moderated the Nairobi gubernatorial debate alongside Zubeida Koome of KTN. 

Mark started his journalism career at Radio Africa Group as a news presenter and reporter at Classic 105 before moving to NTV in 2008 as a news anchor and reporter. 

At NTV, he hosted Press Pass, a TV weekly show that interrogated and critiqued the big stories that are covered by local media.
