The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Shamea Morton and her Kenyan husband Gerald Mwangi are expecting their second child.

The couple announced that baby number two will arrive via surrogacy. Shamea announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday, November 16 by sharing two photos of her and Gerald posing alongside a sonogram photo and a sign that reads "Baby Mwangi due 2023."

"We’re having a baby via surrogacy!" Shamea captioned the post. "It’s been such a long journey! 7 rounds of IVF, failed transfers…etc. I wanted to carry but God had other plans. He always knows best! I’m so grateful. I’m having a baby!"

And to make the announcement even sweeter, Mr. Mwangi called a local radio station V103 Atlanta hours after to gush over his family.

He told that all he wants is a healthy baby and gender is not important and is super excited there is another Mwangi baby on the way.

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Shya Nyambura Mwangi in November 2018. Upon announcing her birth on Instagram, Shamea wrote, "I’m officially a MOM! I have a whole new respect for women and our bodies. Childbirth is nothing short of a miracle. I feel so blessed to have had this experience."

Morton shared photos of her growing baby bump on Instagram. In the adorable post, with her husband Gerald Mwangi, the former Atlanta Hawks and Falcons cheerleader showed off a big smile as her husband caressed her belly.

"I don’t take my life nor my child’s life for granted," she continued. "A 'Birthday' has a whole new meaning to me now. Whew!"

Morton and the Kenyan businessman dated for three years before they wed. The 36-year-old was first introduced to the RHOA franchise as a friend of longtime cast member, Porsha Williams.

Shamea Morton and Gerald Mwangi tied the knot at the scenic Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club on the 22nd of July 2017.
