10 Over 10 TV host, Willis Raburu has flaunted that he has lost 30 kgs and attributed it to the Bariatric surgery that he underwent in August this year.

In a post on his Instagram page, he put up a before-after video montage on his achievement promising to tell more about his weight loss journey.

"The greatest investment you can ever make is on you! When I decided to do Bariatric Surgery I was so scared, but I did it. Will share the story here soon. 30kgs down so far. The journey continues" he continued.

According to Raburu's doctor who performed the Bariatric surgery, the TV host weighed 164 kg, which came down to 150 kg in a month since his surgery early this year.

The doctor added that the father of two confessed to having high blood pressure and cholesterol.

This was compounded by the fact that he had been unsuccessful at losing weight in the gym, factors that made him opt for gastric bypass surgery.

“By the time I was going for the surgery, I was not doing well…I was 164 kg. My pressure was high, my cholesterol was high,” the Citizen TV reporter said in a previous Instagram post.

Bariatric surgery is a variety of procedures performed on people who are obese that include; Roux en-Y bypasssleeve gastrectomy, and biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch.

This is accomplished by changing the levels of gut hormones that control satiety and hunger, creating a new hormonal weight set point.

The best method for treating obesity-related issues and causing weight loss is bariatric surgery.

Kenyan celebrities who have also undergone similar surgeries include socialite Vera Sidika, former Statehouse director of Brand Strategy and Events Big Ted, Kate Actress, Podcaster Murugi Munyi, and socialite Huddah Monroe.
