Tanzanian singer Alikiba seems to have joined Eric Omondi's bandwagon trying to decipher why Nigerians and South Africans are dominating the airwaves.

Speaking during a media interview in his homeland Alikiba blamed both Kenyan and Tanzanian artistes for not supporting each other in the industry.

According to the 'Cinderella' hit maker, Nigerians love and support each other and that is why their music is not only popular but global as well.

"In general I'll speak about what is so obvious. In order to sell music you need a crowd. Nigerians are very proud of their country and their music, that is why their music has been spreading, " Alikiba said.

He went on to add that these artists have built friendships and they are always ready to help each other grow unlike East Africans who would rather climb the ladder alone.

"They got their connections way back and they are are more united than us (East Africans). They support each other so much. It will take time for us to get there," Kiba complained.

I feel like that is an overstretch. I mean people like Sauti Sol saw the potential in upcoming young stars and gave birth to Sol Generation that has been doing incredibly well.

But he does have a point, it's rare for a Tanzanian to gas up a Kenyan or hype their song unless they've collaborated on it.

Kiba's remarks come at a time when our very own Eric Omondi has been in a heated debate bashing artists left right and centre especially for curtain raising for foreign artists.

About a month ago, Eric went on a rant attacking event organizers. He blamed them for being contributors of Kenya's ailing music predicament.

Part of his long rant read, "I will personally make sure all your events fail unless you put Kenyan artists first!!! Don't treat Kenyan artists like second-class musicians, you are currently being uncouth and disrespectful... Idiots."
