Brian Ouko Omollo, commonly known by his stage name Khaligraph Jones and often referred to as Papa Jones, is on a mission to redefine his stature in the Kenyan music industry.

Earlier, he posted a short clip of his 'Gwala' music video, stating he shot it in Nigeria three years ago.

"3 years ago Today, I traveled to Lagos and Did the Gwala Video which was shot by the Biggest video director in Africa right now @ boy director."

He also noted that the video was self-sponsored in case someone tried to raise an eyebrow,

"Self-sponsored, bet y’all didn’t know that, and even if y’all didn’t watch it, one thing me and my manager @shirekuli agreed on is that we were not going to wait for the industry to catch up, Mtatukuta mbele, another one for the History books #respecttheogs

Netizens hopped on to commend the good work as they wrote,

hess_wth: One of the greatest hits by one of the greatest to ever grace the mic,i think this debate about Kenyan music should end because Kenyans don't appreciate their own🔥🔥🔥👑👑

chief_privatesafaris: This song was so underrated na vile ilikuwa banger 🤦🙆....

vinconthebeat: Am not gonna say nothing anymore, hawa wasee hawataelewa. Let the good work speak for itself 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

rapkemboi: This was and is a banger still. Usicomplain sana baba na Kuna sisi wenye we gat these videos

boy_director: The OG shall be respected.

In the past few weeks, the Kenyan entertainment scenes have been dominated by debate among artists getting on each other's neck as to what they are not doing right.

Eric Omondi previously got on record stating that Khaligraph held no capacity to perform in Nigeria.

"Unadhani Khaligraph anaweza perform Nigeria? Meru ya Nigeria? Ata Nairobi ya Nigeria hawezi perform." Eric said.

Well, Khaligraph is lowkey proving the controversial comedian wrong.
