The United Arab Emirates has imposed a visa ban on Nigerian nationals. There is no reason behind the recent visa ban, however, the UAE notes that it needs to resolve some issues with the Nigerian government.

There have also been reports of Nigerians stranded in the UAE. Immigration authorities announced that all submitted applications were effectively rejected and fees non-refundable.

The notice reads in part, “All Dubai applications submitted are now rejected. It is general for Nigerians and approvals are on hold at the moment. Kindly advise your clients to resubmit C2=A0 applications when the issue is resolved between both governments.”

The UAE government said the rejection notices would be sent in batches to applicants.
