Celebrity makeup artist, Dennis Karuri, speaking to Adelle Onyango, revealed that the first time he put on makeup was after a male client asked him to do a full-face beat.
Dennis narrated how he got invited by a Kenyan Dj to do her face, and while at it, the Dj asked him to do his PA's face beat.
"New Year's Eve 2018-2019, I got a booking, from this famous Kenyan DJ, and she had a PA who is very flamboyant and queer, who is now my friend.
I did makeup on the DJ, and the DJ insisted her PA needed makeup too."
Why not? Dennis embarked on the mission in mind he was going for a masculine look.
"So am over there doing masculine makeup on this PA, because he is a guy, and he goes like,
'NO! I need eyebrows, I need eyelashes, I need lipstick, I need you to blend the foundation all the way down, make it extra, Okay?'
I was like Oh! this is new, I have never done anything like this before but I'm gonna do it.
So, I beat that face to the gods! and he was giving! the whole event he was the spotlight."
The PA's look made him revolutionize.
"Immediately after doing his makeup, I sat down, looked at myself in the mirror, took a brush, and did something on my face.
I made it masculine, but I popped on eyebrows that were concealed and I also did a gloss, it was popping."
Dennis to the world, here we come;
"I went out and I actually was at my best.
I posted a picture, and it got a lot of traction. Good traction majorly."
