Former Tanzanian model and District Commissioner Jokate Mwegelo held a lavish baby shower ahead of her delivery date.

The former model is expecting her first child but has been keeping the news away from the public eye. The shower was graced by her close friends and family members.

Videos seen by this writer capture a pregnant Jokate rocking a pink beautiful dress.

For months Jokate was rocking baggy clothes whenever she steps out for official duties- hiding her pregnancy.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Jokate is expecting her first child with Tanzania businessman Fred Vunjabei.

The former model had not made it public that she is about to become a mother soon but all signs were pointing in that direction.

Her protruding belly can’t be hidden anymore and soon she will announce it to the public or better still she will welcome her first child.

In July 2018, the late President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli appointed Jokate Mwegelo as the new District Commissioner for the Kisarawe district in the Pwani region.

She is a member of Chama Cha Mapinduzi and previously served as Secretary in charge of Public Relations and Mobilization UVCCM - the youth wing of Chama Cha Mapinduzi.

She is one of Tanzania's youngest influential leaders and entrepreneurs. In 2017, Hon. Mwegelo was included in Forbes 30 Under 30 in Africa.

 In August 2017 she was named by Africa Youth Awards among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans.

The 2018 Most Influential Young Tanzanians by Avance Media place her as the third most influential young Tanzanian and the most influential young Tanzanian under the category of Law and Governance
