The Mathenge family are in a celebratory mood since the arrival of their newest child.

Wahu welcomed her third child recently, and the excited mum has been dishing tidbits of the moments leading to the delivery of their third born.

She welcomed her daughter named Shiru on Wednesday 12th October, as her husband nameless admitted he was experiencing nerves ahead of the birth.

Among the visitors who were anticipating meeting, the bundle of joy was Wahu's mother.

In a heartwarming video, Wahu told fans that her mother reacted so lovingly to meet the newborn.

"My mum's first encounter with shiru 🥰🥰🥰 she was over the moon after praying with us and for us for the past 9 months. Aki God bless mums"

In the video, we see Wahu's mum walk into the maternity ward where Wahu was breastfeeding.

"Our Shiru" Said the mum in Kikuyu. The elated grandma danced a traditional dance to welcome the baby.

"our shiru you are so blessed, you are truly blessed" she continues singing as Wahu glows with happiness.

The song is a way used by older Kikuyu women to speak blessings on children, for whatever milestone is being marked

Wahu's mum lifts the blanket covering the child and continues her blessings, "our shiru, our shiru, Thank you God " She also launches into a beautiful prayer.

On Tuesday, in a video shared by Wahu while in the hospital bed, the mother of three is seen getting emotional after she is handed over her daughter for the first time after giving birth.

In her caption, Wahu said she enjoyed carrying her baby and she looked forward to the day she would meet her.

"From the moment I knew I was carrying you I loved you. I've loved every kick & turn you made, the doctor's visits where I saw your heartbeat, I have loved singing to you, talking to you...," she said.

Wahu further stated that she was worried and the journey left her with different emotions.

She thanked God for a successful delivery.

"I've worried, I've prayed, and felt a myriad of emotions for the past 9 months, and here we are now... when I finally get hold of you in my arms for the 1st time.

It's difficult to explain this moment...all I can say is Thank you, God. You have seen us through. #grateful #thankyouGod #mamaShiru #mamagirls #raisinggirls."
