The Mathenge family are in a celebratory mood since the arrival of their newest child.
Wahu welcomed her third child recently, and the excited mum has been dishing tidbits of the moments leading to the delivery of their third born.
She welcomed her daughter named Shiru on Wednesday 12th October, as her husband nameless admitted he was experiencing nerves ahead of the birth.
Among the visitors who were anticipating meeting, the bundle of joy was Wahu's mother.
In a heartwarming video, Wahu told fans that her mother reacted so lovingly to meet the newborn.
"My mum's first encounter with shiru 🥰🥰🥰 she was over the moon after praying with us and for us for the past 9 months. Aki God bless mums"
In the video, we see Wahu's mum walk into the maternity ward where Wahu was breastfeeding.
"Our Shiru" Said the mum in Kikuyu. The elated grandma danced a traditional dance to welcome the baby.
"our shiru you are so blessed, you are truly blessed" she continues singing as Wahu glows with happiness.
The song is a way used by older Kikuyu women to speak blessings on children, for whatever milestone is being marked
Wahu's mum lifts the blanket covering the child and continues her blessings, "our shiru, our shiru, Thank you God " She also launches into a beautiful prayer.
