• Some have shaded their counterparts, others have been cryptic.

• The latest PR stunt is by Vera that has upset many Kenyans.

Socialite Vera Sidika's antics over the last couple of days that have led to the unveiling of a new song, has certainly angered Kenyans.

Vera began by confessing that she had undergone a cosmetic reduction surgery, citing health concerns.

She shared a photo of her deflated backside to prove that she had undergone the BBL removal surgery. Some celebrities came out to support her, while others mocked her.

Some Kenyans trolled her as well, and it turns out that it was all for a new song which Sidika released on Friday October 7 which attracted considerable backlash from Kenyans online.

Some celebrities are now speaking up, condemning clout chasing and PR stunts that fool Kenyans.

Some of those responses are below;

1. Comedian Nasra

Nasra took to her Instagram to say simply say 'tumecheswa'.

2. Ciru Muriku

On her Instagram, the BBC journalist  blasted Vera and Bahati saying,

I was going to come and make jokes about it but i realized there is nothing funny about this.

There are so many incredibly talented artistes  spanning several genres, ...so many. But a few people have set the tone for this industry, the to being screw talent, we will only rely on gimmicks.

We have given clout chasers  a platform hey do not deserve. Like now we have spent a week talking about someone's buttocks only to find out that all this was a gimmick to drum up publicity before releasing a (quite frankly mediocre) song.

She added, "We need to stop enabling this  nonsense. True talent speaks for itself."

3.Shakila

Socialite Shakila who rarely reacts to societal issues nowadays seemed to support Vera. The youngin told her followers on Instagram that the mom of one had "she just taught all of us to mind our goddamn business."

Shakila continued "Clout chasing at its best" adding laughing emojis.

4. Nimo Gachuiri

Mr Seeds wife nimo cryptically spoke out against clout chasing without being specific about who she was talking about.

However her statement cannot be coincidental considering the week we have just witnessed.

Nimo took to her Instagram stories to pen her thoughts writing,

"Mimi mtawai nipata kwa comment section aki nikiconsole watu social media. Kwani hamjui hizi streets za social media ni za clout."

She added clown emojis to end the caption.

Post her song release, Vera has commented that she feels cyber bullied, saying, "Honestly speaking people need to stop cyber bullying. It's so sad and pathetic how people enjoy body shaming and trolling online."
