Two Sugoi women are stranded in Nairobi, struggling to meet President William Ruto since September 13.
The tw0 - Eunice Tabut and Everlyn Chepkemei say they walked from Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County to Nairobi to witness Ruto’s swearing-in on September 13, 2022. Unfortunately, they are now ‘stranded’ in the city.
Eunice and Everlyn lamented that they have not managed to earn an appointment with President Ruto to hand him his Mkokoteni gift.
They are homesick but can't leave until they meet Mr. Ruto.
They were told to book an appointment if they want to meet the Head of State and hand over the mkokoteni they bought for him as an inauguration gift.
Speaking to The Standard Thursday night, one of the women Mama Lewis defended herself saying;
"Kwa majina naitwa Everlyne Kipkemei, nina toka Sugoi, nimetoka sherehe ya Ruto kuapishwa baada ya hapo nikakuja kuena State House na mkokoteni yangu nikaambiwa wapi appointment nikaambiana appointment yangi ni ni mkokoteni "
Her comment did not earn her entry to the State House. Instead, she was referred to Mr. Ruto's other residence.
"Nikaambiwa enda sasa huko Karen alafu utasortiwa huko Nikaenda na mkokoteni yangu Karen nikaacha huko nikingoja appointment,"
Everlyn is disappointed that days later she still has not seen the Head of State without an appointment
