The news of Mwax the Herbalist passing on has thrown rapper Nazizi Hirji into deep mourning.

Speaking to Mpasho,  the close friend of the music producer remembers him as someone who was very instrumental to her music career.

"Mwax was just a positive guy, always happy, always smiling, I enjoyed working with him, he always made it so easy to record at his studio and the vibes were always easy and nice.

"He was always very encouraging; I remember him always pushing me, to record and not be quiet," Nazizi remembered.

She remarked it was a huge loss for the entire music industry

"I am really heartbroken that he is not here anymore, he is just one of those great people that the industry had, very talented, humble, and a positive guy in general.

I feel we have lost a large part of the industry with Mwax passing away."

Ni sawa tu hitmaker disclosed that Mwax was battling a long term illness since he was young, but they thought it was under control.

"He was battling an illness since he was a child, but we always thought it was under control and we never saw it coming that he is not going to be there one day.

On Monday morning he woke up feeling unwell, and his wife rushed him to the hospital, where he passed on,' she added.

She urged people to support and pray for his wife and kids as she also remembered how the death of his mum (who passed on last year) affected him.

"I just want to send a lot of love to his wife, and kids, his mum passed away recently and that also affected him."

Nazizi told Mpasho that Mwaxx would be laid to rest in Malindi and there was a WhatsApp group that had been set up to help facilitate Mwax's funeral and support his family.
