Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko penned a heartfelt tribute to his late father – 7 years after his death.

In his message, Sonko reminisced on the good old days when his father was still a live and all the good memories they shared. 

“Yani karibu nisahau kuwa today it is exactly 7 years since my late Dad slid quietly into eternity. Time stood still but it can never erase his presence in our lives. Death may end life but not a relationship,” Sonko said.

The former county boss went on to celebrate his late Dad as a generous man who was full of wisdom.

“We remember you as a wonderful gift from God, our pillar of strength. We deeply cherish your memories of love, dedication, kindness, wisdom, and generosity which will remain a guiding light to us.

Adding that; “Although physically gone, you have always been thought away from us. May the Almighty God continue resting your soul in eternal peace,”.

 “Dear Kenyans and watu wangu nyote in general, I thank every one of you for your prayers during my dad’s sickness.

“We all loved him, but God loved him more than us. Mzee has just left us. Continue praying for our family and those in similar situations,” Sonko shared in 2015 while announcing his father's death.
