TikTok star Azziad Nasenya shared her no make-up photos last week, and people went wild with all sorts of comments.

Azziad, however, was unrelenting as she made fun of the responses.

In a detailed video, Azziad delved deeper as she shared her acne journey and how far she had come.

7 years later, she is steadily recovering from acne that was proving uncontrollable.

Her acne grew worse when she was in form two, and like any other high schooler, she was down for any idea that got proposed, toothpaste? yes, aloe vera? say no more.

In 2020 she decided to see a dermatologist, but it didn't work. On to the second dermatologist, the prescriptions worked, and her skin cleared up, only for her to have an ugly bounce back.

A persistent Azziad resolved to try monthly facials in 2022 and see where it would lead. Having begun the facials in March and daily medication, it was until July that she saw a glimmer of hope.

She noted her acne is genetic, and her trigger was too much protein intake.

She boasts about the confidence that she wears as a crown, either her skin is acting up or not.

Azziad noted that most brands have chosen to work with her due to this aspect.

Having been through 'hell,' she had a few tips to share as she wrapped up,

Do's: In case of intense acne,

  • One should see a dermatologist.
  • Seek professional help.
  • Undergo a skin test before using products,.
  • Be diligent in your skincare routine.
  • Apply sunscreen.
  • Be patient, and most importantly, be confident in your skin.

Don'ts:

  • Avoid poking your acne.
  • Don't listen to online dermatologists.
  • Don't sleep with your make-up.
