Media personality Karwirwa Laura was overwhelmed by emotions after being treated to a pleasant surprise at the time she was leaving Citizen TV after 3 years.

The Citizen TV management invited Laura’s family to grace her last show on Bambika and she could not hold back her tears.

In a video clip seen by this writer, Karwirwa could be seen fighting back tears as her parents and only brother showered her with glowing tributes.

Laura's brother opened the floor saying; “I am the one and only brother to Karwirwa and I am happy to be here. It’s sad to see her go but we are glad that she is upgrading. She has left Dad and mum in my hands and I will take care of them,’

After the brother’s befitting farewell, Laura disclosed that her parents lied to her that they will be watching her last show from home – only to show up at Citizen TV studios when she is signing off.

“Thank you for inviting us. We have come here to thank Noel and DJ Gee Gee and the whole management for taking care of Laura for those three years.

"When she came here she didn’t know what she was coming to do, we didn't understand that she had that talent that you brought out. We knew she could sing but never knew she was a hood host as well," the mother said in part.

Karwirwa’s mother urged her daughter to represent her family and country well in London.

“Laura as you go to London, represent as well we pray for you and we know you would do your best as you always do. The world is small we can continue communicating and you can continue entertaining people and you have the channels to do so that and we wish you all the best,” Laura’s mother said.

Picking the microphone from his wife (Laura’s mother), Karwirwa’s father expressed gratitude to Citizen TV for employing his daughter.

“We are grateful to Citizen TV for having Laura for the past three years and exposing some talents we never knew she possesses. As she leaves to go and further her study, I want to pray that what she has gathered from here she will be able to build on it,” he said.

Adding; 'Well done daughter you have been a great thing for this station and this station has been a great thing for you and we thank god for everything,”.

Rauka gospel show host Joyce Omondi Waihiga led the cake-cutting session and she bid goodbye to Laura.

“We speak the lord's blessings over you as you travel, go and make us proud and you will always have a home here…you best is yet to come, and may God order your steps and bless you,” Joyce Omondi said.
