20 most followed Kenyan personalities on Twitter

The world has been taken over by social media, and having a global following on Twitter is a big deal.

Many young people now use Twitter as their new office because they are paid to tweet. The power formed around individuals who command numbers on this platform has made the micro-blogging platform the biggest and one of the most reliable sources of news.

Celebrities, media outlets, and public figures use this platform to interact with their followers and disseminate information.

We'll pick out a few of Kenya's most popular Twitter users to see how many followers they command.

President-elect Dr. William Ruto is the most followed person in Kenya, commanding a following of 5.1 million people on his person Twitter handle.

The second, person on the list is Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga, followed by Miguna Miguna, Larry Madowo and Kipchumba Murkomen - they all have 2.3 million.

Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange takes pride in having a 2.1 million followers while political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi.

TV personality Larry Madowo leads the pack when it comes to celebrities with most followers on Twitter followed closely by Jeff Koinange, Lupita Nyong'o and Julie Gichuru.
