Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai has hailed her mum Tabitha Karanja for fighting her way up despite coming from a humble background.
Anerlisa's mum Tabitha was elected as the Nakuru senator in the recent general elections.
She is also a well-known businesswoman, entrepreneur, and industrialist.
She is the founder and current Chief Executive Officer of Keroche Breweries, the first large brewery in Kenya owned by a nonmultinational company.
Through her Instagram page, Anerlisa was speaking to her followers urging them to choose their role model wisely and not in terms of what that person has or shares online.
According to Anerlisa, most people make others their role models on the money or power they have and not what they know about the person.
"Besides the lifestyle and what you see on social media, why is this person your role model?" Most of them won't have an answer beyond what they see as the end product," she wrote.
Anerlisa added that a role model should be somebody you know detail by detail about them.
"From how they started, the struggles and their break-through to date. Not because you've seen them on a private jet, have expensive cars, and all the luxury. For me some people have all that but can never be my role models," she said.
Anerlisa hailed her mum stating that she has worked hard for all that she currently has.
"My mother "Tabitha Karanja" is a perfect example of a good role model. A girl from the village and has fought her way up and still is fighting," she wrote.
"So cut making people role models because of what they got."
