Atlanta-based Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee has expressed displeasure in the manner which music distribution company Mziiki has been handling her money matters.

In a statement released via her social media pages, Mdee lamented the Mziiki who were contracted to distribute her music have not been remitting what’s rightful hers.

The Niroge hitmaker narrates that she tried reaching out to Mziiki to iron out their difference private but nothing was forthcoming.

"My goodness, money made from music is sought with difficulty by the artists from the creation until it reaches the people. Please Mzikii, I asked you to pay me my money according to the agreement we made. I have tried the professional way with my team but now you have reached the point where you have seized to answer," Vanessa Mdee lamented.

She went on to says; “Na Kama unawadai ni ruksa kudandia tweet yangu, tuache kabisa masihara na vijisenti vyetu ni ZETU @Mziiki,”.

Later, Vanessa revealed that she talked to the Mziiki management and they are back in talking terms.

“Asante Mziiki kwa kujibu na kuturudia baada ya kutweet nawashukuru wanaTwitter. It doesn’t need to be this way,” Mdee updated.

In June 2020, Venessa Mdee announced that she had decided to shelve her music career for good – embarking on a journey to rediscovery herself.

The singer explained that she made the decision to leave the music industry because it’s very demonic.

"Now my fans are probably asking themselves right now; Are you gonna never sing again? Are we gonna never see you perform? Let me reiterate, I love music, I love to create, I love to perform, I’m a vessel, this is what I was brought on earth to be, but maybe I was a vessel to be here in this moment to have gone through everything that I have gone through so that I can tell you most honestly the truth about things you will never somewhere else,” said Vanessa Mdee.
