Fatuma Achani is set to take the oath of office as the Coast regions first female Governor at the newly constructed Kwale Sports Stadium.
Achani is now Kwale's second Governor after flooring her rivals.
Achani (UDA defeated five men in the race—Chai Lung'anzi (PAA), Hamadi Boga (ODM), Chirau Mwakwere (Wiper), Gereza Dena (KANU) and Sammy Ruwa (independent)
Achani arrived at the highly anticipated ceremony wearing an Islamic jungle green suit accessorized with white headgear.
On Wednesday during a rehearsal ceremony, Achani said the elections were over and it was time to come together for the good of the county.
She will be sworn in alongside her Deputy Chirema Kombo, outgoing Samburu-Chengoni MCA.
The swearing-in ceremony will be graced by Lady Justice Olga Sewe and Magistrate Joe Mkutu.
Achani is the first female coastal and second Kwale governor.
She is taking over the mantle from the outgoing governor Salim Mvurya.
Many are not aware that Achani served as a Legal Counsel & Programme Officer at @fidakenya.
