Linet Chepkorir aka Toto the newly-elect Bomet County's new woman representative was at JKL last night with other young politicians.

Linet shared other odd jobs she has done before.

She said that just immediately after completing school, she became a hawker and a chips vendor.

"I graduated last year in procurement. I started selling clothes in Bomet where I was employed by someone there. I left that and started selling chips in a certain hotel. I used to earn 200 bobs per day," she said.

Linet added that she also became a housemaid for a month before she jumped into politics to vie for the women's rep position.

"All along I have been a leader, that is from childhood, primary school, high school, and even in college and even in the church. I knew immediately after my graduation I was going to vie for this particular position."

Linet thanked her parents for endorsing and supporting her dreams.

"They are very proud of me. They have a politician daughter. I want to thank them for endorsing me."

In the interview was 21-year-old Timothy Mutwiri, the new MCA for Kiegoi Antubuchiu Ward in Meru County.

Mutwiri vied as an independent candidate and won the seat.

He was a casual laborer after he completed his university.

"I started mjengo jobs after university and cutting grass and I was inspired by John Paul Mwirigi, the Member of Parliament for Igembe South Constituency.

"From 2016 when I would meet him campaigning. I want to inspire other youth."

22-year-old George Nene also defied all odds to clinch Elementaita ward's MCA seat at the August 9 General Election.

He campaigned on a donkey. He told Jeff Koinange that he has not graduated yet.

"I was a fourth-year student at Egerton university taking a bachelor of education art. I would have graduated but school fees challenges, Corona, and some strikes here and there, I have not graduated."

George added that when he told his parents he wanted to vie, they were afraid since he did not have money.

"I came with a poster with my picture and told them I wanted to vie for an elective seat in Elementaita ward. They were scared since I didn't have money. I convinced them and they agreed. Immediately I Started going to homesteads. After visiting all the houses in my ward, I went further into other wards," he said.

He also remarked that it was his first time wearing a suit during the interview.

"I am excited. This suit was given to me by a friend. When he learned that I was coming for this interview, he asked me to come for a suit.
