Media personality Willis Raburu did not stop reading the news because he had locks.

Speaking to Mungai Eve, the 10 over 10 presenters said he put locks to change his hairstyle.

Raburu had stopped reading the news when he started keeping locks but his fans thought the company asked him to stop because of that.

"People had all sorts of stuff to say after I put on my locks," he said

Adding;

"Although, I had some ups and downs that was not the reason I put the locks, It is something that I have always wanted to do.

It is time I got to a place and said that I needed a change, I have had the locks for about two years."

Raburu said he kept the locks and all through, there was pressure from some of his fans to cut them. Some said he was portraying the father figure in him something he rubbished.

"There is a lot of pressure to remove them. We have celebrities who are fathers and they have had locks since kitambo, the likes of Nameless, Nyash among others. Hair does not make or break you. Some people have locks and they are good dads. I have always been with me for a very wrong time."

Raburu added that he has never focused on what haters have to say about what he does as he is always real.

"I also wanted to break that notion of that you are bad when you have locks. I have not focused on people. There was not any boss who said I remove my locks."

In a past interview with Mseto East Africa, Raburu admitted that 2020 had taught him a lot, including the fact that tomorrow was not guaranteed to anyone.

"Dreadlocks was something I always wanted to have and also because of my love for Reggae music, I had to them put on. The money is mine, the hair is also mine."

"What I am doing with 2020 is to do everything that I have always wanted to do. Because if there is one thing 2020 taught us is, everything can change in the span of a second, without you achieving what you always wanted."
