Gukena FM's presenter and comedian Auntie Jemimah is today celebrating her birthday.
The veteran Kikuyu comedian welcomed her new year with a strong message recounting how the past year was tough for her.
She said most of her past year, she was grieving.
"33! Oh, this far I say Asante because my 32 has been about picking my broken self up all through.
There have been good days and there have been days where I just broke down and cried all day! Grief has defined my 32."
Jemimah asked her fans to wish her a good year ahead.
"Send those birthday wishes and send me strength for my 33rd chapter Happy birthday Nyarari!One day at a time. One moment at a time. One year at a time."
Auntie Jemimah co-host Gukena FM's drive show every weekday.
On her YouTube channel, Jemima identifies herself as "a mother to one beautiful sleeping girl, Makena Nduta."
She lost her daughter last year at 34 weeks' of pregnancy journey (eight months).
"My pregnancy was smooth. Water broke at 34 weeks. I was just relaxing after leaving work," she said, adding that she hoped to start her maternity leave on her very last day.
