A government pathologist is today expected at Loitokitok sub-county hospital mortuary at 9 am in the company of a family-appointed doctor to carry out the postmortem.
Pathologists will examine the body of IEBC official Daniel Musyoka that was found dead in Loitokitok on Monday, to establish the cause of his death.
Her two sisters positively identified the body of Musyoka on Monday after it was discovered by Maasai herders along Meriko River, five days after he was reported missing.
The family members of the deceased will also be present during the postmortem.
Detectives who went to the scene to recover the body said it appeared the killers broke his neck.
Musyoka went missing on August 11, from the East African School of Aviation tallying center. He disappeared at around 9:45 am.
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said they had tried to reach him but to no avail.
"Musyoka's family and the commission have been trying to reach him without success. A report of a missing person has been made at Embakasi police station," Chebukati said on Monday.
On Tuesday, Kajiado County Police Commander Muthuri Mwongera said the body recovered along the River Meriko on the border of Kenya and Tanzania had marks around the neck, hands, and legs.
He said the scene where the body was found indicated a struggle between the killers and the victim.
The police also indicate that Musyoka might have been killed elsewhere and had his body dumped at the scene where it was found.
If he had been killed at the scene herders would already have found his body earlier than they did.
The motive of the murder is yet to be found.
