The Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli's wife, Mary Kilobi, has urged Kenyans to maintain peace after the elections.

In a post on her Instagram, Kilobi told Kenyans to refrain from insults and hate and accept the final presidential results set to be announced later today.

"Ni wiki sasa Wakenya ni wagonjwa! Same Symptoms. Huu ugonjwa unaitwaje? At least one unifying factor!

Hii haijui Azimio au Kenya kwanza. Sio joto mwilini bali joto TumbonišŸ¤£šŸ¤£. Anyway, let's just embrace each other whatever the outcome!

Your hairdresser, Barber, Boda rider , Conductor, Bus driver, Doctor, Mechanic, Lecturer, News Anchor, Waiter, teacher, etc can not all be from you political affiliation," she wrote.

Kilobi then added that Kenyans need to embrace their neighbours as they are the ones who can help them in times of need.

"At the end of politics which is today, we need each other like before!

Will you go to the hospital and inquire about the nurse's tribe or political affiliation before you are treated when you have a broken arm? Utafanya nini?

How will your hatred for Kilobi or your neighbour improve your life? Don't burn bridges with insults! Wakenya amkeni!

Wewe Penda tu jirani yako. Wachia Siasa wanasiasa you did you best on 9th August! Life must go on. Tusikubali kuwa washieeeeenzi.... kuharibu nchi yetu... #OneKenya."

In another post, Kilobi encouraged her fans to love each other despite which political party wins.
