Adding, 'I can't wait to see him take over the company.'

After Ssemwanga's burial in 2017, it was reported that the family held a meeting and agreed that Zari should take care of the deceased’s property in South Africa.

Zari was also named as the highest beneficiary of Semwanga’s wealth and according to sources, she was given 50%, her three sons 30%, Ivan’s family 10%, and King Lawrence (his best friend) 10% as well.

Some of the wealth attributed to Ivan included two palatial mansions in Pretoria and one in Munyonyo, Uganda, Real estate properties both at home and abroad, Brooklyn Colleges across South Africa, and a 5-star hotel in Kampala.

Socialite Zari Hassan currently heads Brooklyn Colleges in South Africa, which she and her late husband, Ivan Semwanga managed. Zari has a close relationship with her sons.

She fully supports her son Raphael's relationship with his girlfriend, Leila. In a past post, the mother of five shared a photo of her firstborn son, Raphael, holding his girlfriend while they took a mirror selfie.

She captioned it, “God bless you guys,” and added a red rose and kiss emoji.

Zari Hassan first announced that her son was in a relationship last year while defending him after he went viral for saying he was gay.

In an interview with Wasafi, Zari responded to Raphael’s sexual preference by dismissing the allegations and adding that he has a girlfriend.

She added that Raphael was an attention seeker and his gay claims were untrue.

"I know the truth and ningekuwa kabisa ule ni gay I would have felt somehow. Lakini he is straight. He has a girlfriend."
