In light of the upcoming elections, a few Kenyan artists have taken their time to remix Eric Wainaina's song, 'Daima Kenya'.

But have no fear, the veteran musician himself is in the remix too.

According to a statement, the aim of doing this song was to call upon artists to put their best foot forward to advocate for peace in Kenya.

"The video shoot is to happen at the Kenya National Theatre's main auditorium tomorrow from 5pm-7pm."

Artistes and members of the public are encouraged to take part in the video.

"If you're an artist and even if you aren't but you believe you can and will be an advocate of peace during this vulnerable time in Kenya, you are more than welcome to help fill all the seats of the main auditorium with the likes of the agents of peace such as yourself."

"If you do want to be a part of this video shoot, you will be among the different people from different backgrounds who will be seated in the auditorium. You, as well as all the other people in the auditorium, are meant to be standing while singing the final chorus of the song as a sort of a national anthem/pledge to show our unity for peace in the country."

The song, Daima is a patriotic song that implores Kenyans to each do their share in improving the country.

It was a melody that was made to give Kenyans hope amidst negative vices, including corruption and bad governance.

Kenyans will vote for their leaders on the 9th of August 2020.
