Singer Mejja is among the veteran musicians who are doing very well in the industry in terms of their songs being played all over our media outlets.

Despite the success in the industry, Mejja said his musical life has been a journey that he appreciates so much.

Mejja said his former label record Calif Records nurtured him well.

"They gave me the tools to work. I would still be grateful that I write songs from how I learned from Calif records. The boss would challenge me to do better," he said.

One of the tips Mejja uses while producing his content is that he spends enough time on a single project.

Mejja said his videos take enough time to work on them.

"For example, in my latest song, Kanairo Dating, all the settings are done at different places," he said.

"We keep moving around with over 25 people. Tabia za Wakenya all the lines were shot in a different place and that can show you that we put in a lot of work."

Mejja said that his passion to give his fans good content enables him to go the extra mile.

"People underestimate our efforts but it is a lot of work. I love documentaries and comedies. I like humour and that is how I use it in my songs. I watch a lot of movies to create my music."

Speaking about his projects, Mejja said some of them hit despite expecting otherwise.

"A song like, 'Siku hizi ni kubaad- I did not expect it to be a hit. I talked about a lot of issues in the song. It's a club song and also reflects on real-life issues. I did not think people would relate. I put an easy beat that can be fan and to ease the strong message in the song," he said.

Mejja is currently promoting his latest song Kanairo Dating which premiered on July 14th.

The song speaks all about dating all manner of girls and the pitfalls of having a popular girlfriend and one who likes too much physical intimacy.
