Safaricom will this weekend be sponsoring the Churchill Show, Eldoret which is dubbed the MURSIK Edition to a tune of Ksh2Million.
The weekend is set to begin on Friday 1st July with an Inspire Session at the Catholic University of East Africa from 10 AM.
On Saturday 2nd July, Churchill will host a number of renowned comedians during the Main show at the Rupa’s Mall Grounds with gates opening at 4 PM.
The weekend will end on a high note on Sunday 3rd July with the Children’s show at the Rupa’s Mall Ground from 2 PM bearing in mind schools are closing for a short holiday this week.
The recorded event will see performances from Jemutai, Sleepy David, Captain Otoyo, Vinnie Baite and MCA Tricky.
The show is now housed on TV47, Churchill explained why he took the show to a different media house.
He said that his taking the show to TV47 had been a mutual business decision and said that he and NTV were still in good terms.
"I've not entirely left NTV, we have grown so many things together and I will always thank them." Churchill disclosed.
The comic disclosed that his show wanted to get explore what was out there and TV47 turned out to be what he was looking for.
"It has come to a point where we have to look at where we are in life and transition. Where we came into agreement with TV47 was the vision they had for entertainment, not only in Kenya but also in East Africa."
Adding, "When we sat down with the chairman, Mr Simon, we were clear with where we wanted to go. While in NTV, I worked on 2-3 year contracts but in TV47 it's not about the period but the plan of where we want to go."
He went on to say that the new iteration of the show would include new social media stars who emerged during and after the Covid pandemic.
