A walking nation! Heavy traffic jam along Waiyaki Way due to matatu strike

Kenyans resorted to walking after the matatu strike caused a heavy traffic snarl-up

• Pedestrians heading to Westlands and those coming to the CBD were forced to walk for long distances to their work places.

• The Public Service Vehicles (PSV) blocked the road in protest of bus stop removal by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

On Thursday morning, there was traffic at Waiyaki and pedestrians heading to Westlands and those coming to the CBD were forced to walk for long distances to their workplaces.

The Public Service Vehicles (PSV) blocked the road in protest of a bus stop removal by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

Police and GSU officers were forced to lob teargas to disperse the crowd that had gathered around Westlands roundabout.
