Kenyan Ohangla musician, Joseph Onyango Ochieng is popularly known as Onyi Jalamo, asked musicians to thank God if Raila Odinga uses their song.

According to him, that is a blessing that everyone wishes to have. This was after Kenyan boy band, Sauti Sol, threatened to sue the Azimio coalition over copyright infringement.

"It is a miracle and you need to thank God if Raila uses your phone during his campaign, it is a fav9r most people pray to get," Onyi said.

In an interview with Mzuka Kibao TV, Onyi Jalamo warned musicians against feeling proud thinking that they have done Raila a favour to use their songs in his campaign.

He says it is Raila who has done them a huge favour using their song.

"Do not think that you are doing Raila a favor when he uses your song, he is the one favoring you, "Onyi hypothesised.

Jalamo also said that there are so many musicians in the country, so for the presidential aspirant to choose your music is with great honor.

"I always advise my brother in christ Emmanuel Musyimbi, when he did a remix with Raila, he talked to me about it and I advised him on how things should be done. One thing I told him is to thank God that Raila wanted to use his song," says Jalamo.

Adding to that, the Ohangla musician said that the name Raila itself is a breakthrough. He believes that when a musician complains about Raila using their song it is a curse and that may spoil their future.

"If you misuse that opportunity you will come to regret it later in life," he advised.

"Personally, I can record for Raila like ten songs a day, so someone to go to the court because his song has been used is nonsense. Right now most people are complaining about their songs being used because they are not used to the songs during campaigns, but from next week they will want to perform, but it will be too late," Onyi concluded.
