Comedian Vincent Mwasia Mutua, popularly known as Chipukeezy has revealed that he was paid $5,000, equivalent to over Sh,5,000,000 for a 10-minute show in USA.
Speaking to Mungai Eve, Chipukeezy said celebrated comedian, Katt Williams was the one who gave him the chance to perform on one of the biggest stages in USA before paying handsomely for that.
Chipukeezy says meeting Katt Williams was the biggest sacrifice he ever made and it bore so many sweet fruits.
He Kat williams was performing in DC and he was in Atlanta. So he had to book a flight to DC and bought a VIP ticket ticket worth $300 (Sh 30,000) so that he could sit next to Katt and probably get him to recognize his presence.
"When I went to his show I didn't manage to meet Katt Williams But I went backstage to where he was with my friend Taz. Taz told him 'there is a n***a here from Africa who is here to see you,'"said Chipukeezy.
He said, Williams invited him to his house and when he asked what he could do to help Chipukeezy, the comedian expressed his desire to open for one of his shows.
Katt was happy to do so and asked him to perform in his show that night and later paid him a whooping $5,000 after he performed and brought the house down for just 10 minutes.
I felt so good because in as much as I had spent a lot of money and got what I had always wanted to happen. I had gotten a chance to perform for Americans with a big comedian on the biggest platform."
Chipukeezy performed in front of an audience of 15,000.
The risk I took wasn't for nothing and we ended up being friends.
Chipukeezy says Katt promised to visit Africa sometime as well as him offering to build a computer lab for Chipukeezy's school.
