A few days ago, social media personality and comedian YY came across a story of a struggling family which had to sell their roof after their son was admitted to hospital and they did not have any other means to take care of the bills.
Willy Odhiambo, whose son suffers from sickle cell anemia, reported that his son had been admitted and the hospital bill had amounted to 10 thousand shillings which pushed him to sell the roof to their mud house.
He described his fears whenever night falls as he lived in a roofless house together with his young family after he chose to sell their roof so as to settle his ailing son's bills.
Their plight touched the comedian's heart and he took to his Facebook page to voice his wish to locate the family and help build a house for them as soon as possible, asking one of his clients a roofing company to help him with the cause.
Well, turns out the media personality is a man of his words (unlike our politicians) and he actually did track down the family all the way in Kakamega county.
Just 5 days after he said he would help out the family, YY was able to track them and reach out to the family, travel to their current homestead, and begin construction of their new modern stone house.
YY shared videos on his insta stories of the current progress that he and his team had made captioning the video, "I am genuinely happy for Willy, Nairobi narudi ikiisha. (I will return to Nairobi once the process is done.)"
In a second video, still showing the progress of the house he captioned, "We thank God," as his song 'Amen' featuring Alpha Mwanza Mtule played.
Last year in August, YY won Kenyan's hearts after he built his mom a modern house.
He expressed his deep love for her stating that he was not going to do a long post.
