Balensiogi! Kenyans react to new 'destroyed' Balenciaga shoes

Luxury fashion brand Balenciaga has launched its new Paris Sneaker line, featuring “destroyed” shoes.

As funny as that sounds, their prices are no laughing matter and it would cost you an arm and a leg to own one.

The lowest-priced shoe in the line is the Paris Trainers Mule, starting at Sh266k and the most expensive pair clocks in at a whopping Sh74k before taxes.

Just like the name suggests, the shoes are destroyed and one would be very lucky to wear them at least thrice before they turn into flip flops.

The worn-out sneakers are spray-painted on the sides of their rubber soles making it look like it came from a toddler's art class session.

As soon as the brand made the announcement, no one was having any of it and social media is currently awash with guys making fun of the shoes, probably a clear suggestion that the company might struggle to balance their new Balenciaga model books.

But will Kenyans bow to pressure and start making those expensive orders? After singer Otile Brown recently flaunted his Ksh 80,000 boots, some have called on the company to hide them ASAP before the 'Dusuma' singer grabs a couple of them.
