Citizen Tv anchor Rashid Abdalla got the most pleasant surprise from family and friends on Sunday, May 9th.

The Swahili anchor was expecting to do a live broadcast and so was anticipating being linked to the Nairobi studio.

However, things turned out different as he entered the venue of what he thought was where the recording would occur.

He was stunned when friends jumped out and shouted 'surprise!'.

Rashid was dressed the sultan way, impressing attendees with his white Kanzu and sceptre that he held in his hand. It fit in very well with the theme of the party.

His wife Lulu Hassan said that the party had to wait because they were observing Ramadhan.

The journalist was overcome with emotions after his wife Lulu hugged him and welcomed him to join their pals.

From the videos shared by Producer Monicah Kiragu on her Instagram page, Rashid received lots of love and even had money thrown at him to celebrate his life.

Among the guests were workmates Faizah Wanjiru, Emmanuel Igunza, Wangechi Muriuki and Hassan Mugambi.

On Rashid's birthday, Lulu threw him another surprise by walking into the studio with their children just after Rashid was done with the bulletin.

The kids were so happy to see daddy at work while singing birthday songs to him.
