Socialite Corazon Kwamboka is celebrating painless menses after many years.

Corazon who is a mum of two beautiful kids and an endometriosis survivor said having painless menses is something really worth celebrating for her.

She explained how she would role down two years ago during her periods but that is long gone.

"Got my first period in over two and a half years today and as an endo survivor, having painless menses is really worth celebrating."

Corazon said undergoing a Laparoscopy surgery helped in easing her pain.

"I used to roll on the floor and cry literal tears, like wail during my periods before i did the laparoscopy."

According to Dr Anjali Kumar, a leading gynaecologist at the CK Birla Hospital, Laparoscopy is an advanced key-hole surgery to treat endometriosis.

The surgery can temporarily affect a woman’s reproductive health.

The surgical procedure allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen (tummy) and pelvis without having to make large incisions in the skin.

In a past interview with Nation last year, Corazon said she was not sure she would be able to start a family on account of her condition.

She recalls finding out about her endometriosis in 2018, after suffering through years of painful menstrual periods that began when she was in high school, around the age of 16.

"I always had to go to the sickbay because I could not walk and had to always be on painkillers. It was a horrible experience that I never looked forward to."

Corazon sought help from two doctors after finding out about her condition in 2018 and finally got a laparoscopic surgery.

"I reached out to my cousin who had a similar condition, and she referred me to her gynaecologist, whose recommendation and insistence on a second scan led us to find out that I had two cysts. He advised that I had to go under the knife, and I eventually got laparoscopic surgery in January of 2019."

She conceived soon after the surgery.
