Former child actor Trevor Gitonga has revealed he is transgender by unveiling a number of photos of him dressed up as a woman.

Trevor is known for starring in a number of movie and TV productions like Leo, the movie, MNet’s TV series, Changes and TV ads such as KPLC’s ‘Umeme Pamoja’ ad.

In a series of tweets, Trevor who now calls himself Taylor rants about how hard life is in the UK.

He tweeted, "I’ve been keeping track. ya know I eat on average 2 days of the week."

He added, "Can I be confirmed a convention refugee please so I can get access to society again. That’s all I want. For the first time in my life, I need support, I've screamed I've cried and nothing."

In another tweet, he states, "If I go back home, ill surely be killed. but it feels like I can't stay here, I'm not welcomed here #thirdcountrysolution #tiredofrunning. Help me, support me, I feel isolated."

The actor also highlighted how he is dealing with his mental health.

He posted on his Facebook page, "Hi everyone, It's been roughly two weeks now since I publicly disclosed my mental health battle with schizoaffective disorder (a form of schizophrenia that is slightly different, personal research is encouraged).

As you might imagine, every day life is rather chaotic and very difficult at this time. And for these reasons I've found it emotionally difficult to respond to all the messages I've received.

But I wanted to say that I will respond and I appreciate your patience, and more importantly, your words of encouragement in private. That "sch" word is so life-altering.

It's almost like a swear word. I can't help but self-stigmatize and try to run away from it, try to deny it because its so terrifying.

Here is a journal entry I made about a mental health action plan this evening that I wanted to share with you all. It goes on for longer past what the picture shows, and involves specific tasks and routines that I won't share on the public iworldwide web for obvious privacy reasons (did I mention I'm paranoid? cause...I'm paranoid lol)

I'll be in touch again soon. Love and light."

Trevor made an appeal asking for help to travel back to Kenya.

"Hi friends, after much agony and weighing my options and situation, I’ve decided the best course of action is to return home to Kenya for some rest and family time, before deciding my steps. I would love, and very much need, support from the Kenyan community in organizing and providing my return ticket(s), Godspeed."
