Aspiring politician Refigah has said he won't be using any artists to campaign for him. The Granda Records founder says he prefers listening to people sharing their grievances and him trying to find a solution.

Speaking exclusively to Mpasho.Co.Ke, Refigah said that he has two songs that he will use to campaign.

"I am not using any artist during my rally, I have two political campaign songs but I will not be carrying artists to entertain people.

We are trying to communicate to people so we approach opinion leaders who tell us what the challenges are and then I take the stage. I do not want to do things everybody does."

Refigah says the songs he will use are fresh, "I will not use the 'Fimbo' song, The two songs I am using are fresh."

Unlike Refigah, veteran politicians such as Raila Odinga are using artists to help promote their campaigns. Baba is using Trio Mio in Azimio, William Ruto is using Iyanii in UDA.

Jalang'o is using Mtumba Man to sing his campaign song. In the past, President Uhuru Kenyatta used Ben Githae whose 'Tano Tena' helped propelled him to State House.

The Late Mwai Kibaki also used Gidi Gidi and Maji Maji's song 'Unbwogable' during his 2002 presidential campaigns.

Refigah added that whether he wins or loses the seat, he will not stop helping the people of Kibra. He also called out creatives who are joining the political scene assuming there is money.

"Politics is not a bed of roses, if you are not ready to be bothered, please do not take that direction. Be ready to serve.  Some are joining politics thinking there is luxury or it is a greener pasture. I believe personalities in showbiz are joining politics for the wrong reasons," he said.

Other celebrities who have joined the political scene in 2022 include comedian MC Jessy, Jalang'o, and DNG.
