In the Young Famous and African Netflixx reality show, Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz admitted that he is a player.
While having a conversation with one of his baby mamas Zari Hassan, Simba admitted that he was not faithful while they were together.
"You messed up…" Zari said and Diamond agreed saying; "I know I am a player."
All his baby mamas; Zari Hassan, Hamisa Mobetto and Tanasha Donna in the past accused him of cheating on them.
Speaking to BBC Swahili, Diamond now says he has since changed his ways.
"The reason I said I am a player is coz, I need to give people the reality about me. It had to come out like that in the show so it can be a lesson to someone else in real life. In every show, there has to be a lesson coming from it," he said.
"If you pretend to be decent, people will not learn anything from the show. There has to be a stirring in a movie and so on. To show the society the consequences of something. I had to tell my viewers that was me in the past. I was a player."
Diamond said that he kept thirsting on several women even when dating.
"We go through alot. Sometimes, damu inachemka and things happen. You know we Muslims can marry even four wives, haha am not married yet. I am now a cool person."
Speaking about his wedding plans, Diamond said people should stop forcing him into marriage.
"Natamani kuoa, naelekea kwenye kuoa. Everyone wants to be married. It could be soon. It could be a person they know but we cannot force people to get into marriage."
Asked if it’s his mum who is planning for him the woman to marry, Diamond said his fans are hurting her.
"At this age, how can my mum plan my life? That life is long gone when a parent used to plan for who their son can get married to."
Asked if the lady he is getting married to was from Zanzibar, Diamond laughed it off.
"I don’t know for real."
