Kiss FM morning show host Oga Obinna has opened up on how he was almost conned by a pioneer in the Kenyan industry.
He says the 'conning' came from someone he least expected.
"I was almost conned yesterday by a pioneer in the music industry.
It's someone I haven't talked to in a very long time. He calls me and tells me that he has an emergency that needs 4k to be sorted.
He promised to return the cash in two weeks' time.
I told him I had 1K but he was like 'hauna 4K? I told him I only had 1K, I told him not to even return the cash."
Obinna added, "If you are in Nairobi but have never been conned then I do not know where you are from."
Obinna shared his experience after an expose by Citizen TV highlighting how inmates in Kamiti con people.
In the expose the inmates have different jobs.
Each person is given a job that matches his personality.
The jobs including
- Calling and duping clueless Kenyans.
- Seducing women in need of love by posing as White wealthy men.
- Receiving and diverting cash received from clueless Kenyans. among other things.
The inmates get their phones through the back door using the help of Prison warders who in turn get a share of the loot.
A warder makes not more than Ksh 5,000 per day after the prisoner's con people.
