Controversial Kenyan gospel artist, Ringtone Apoko, has once again hit the spotlight but this time because of a philanthropic proposal he has made.

Posting a video on his Instagram, Ringtone declared that he wanted to help out single moms with bright students.

He stated that he was willing to pay a year's worth of school fees to a needy student who's set to join form one.

Also, the student must have scored over 400 marks in the 2021 KCPE national examination.

This was based on a first come first served basis therefore whoever contacted him first would grab the chance.

"If you have a child who sat for the KCPE national exam and attained over 400 marks, DM me. I want to pay school fees for your kid for one year," he stated.

He concluded by sharing his concern as he called upon Kenyans to take it upon themselves to do good and stated,

"I'll post it here and I know some of you will say I am boasting. Let's compete in doing good. God bless you."

This, however, elicited mixed reactions from netizens as they left comments on his video and felt like he was doing it out of generosity while others doubts his intentions.

mercie_newtons: My cousin is an orphan and scored 402 marks. Do they qualify for your offer?

mr_confedence_cypher_official: That's good chairman na ubarikiwe .

mc_breezyofficial: Saidia wote uko na pesa.

benvick2001: Ni school fees ama school FEAS, Am confused, unataka kutuma fear Kwa Watoto wa shule.
