Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime's has turned one year old today.

Through her social media, the mother of one shared a photo of her all-grown son celebrating the journey.

She said her wish was he could take over the height of his dad but take over the comedy part from her.

"On this day last year, God forgave me all my sins and gave me a second chance at this precious life. My son @selassie_ataho1 was born. A reminder that he knows the absolute desires of our hearts. I love you so much my precious boy. But please promise me you will be as tall as your father. @skylantagram It’s ok to take after my madness.(it has worked)"

In a past interview, Kansiime said she struggled to conceive her child since her tubes were blocked.

She said her fertility journey was affected by things that happened a long time ago.

"My journey to getting pregnant is not a short one. It started while I was still in school," she said.

"I tried to investigate why it was hard for me to conceive and the doctors said my tubes were blocked, and so we had to start the process of unblocking them."

Kansiime said the process was very painful. She said she tried IVF, an assisted reproduction method where a man's sperm and a woman's eggs are combined outside of the body in a laboratory dish.

One or more fertilised eggs (embryos) may be transferred into the woman's uterus, where they may implant in the uterine lining and develop.
