Nana Owiti shocked Kenyans yesterday night when she revealed an astounding fact about the kids she shares with her hubby, King Kaka.

The former Switch TV presenter divulged that her kids didn't 'get' Kiswahili something that astonishes her.

Using her Instagram page, the chocolate-skinned Nana posted a video where one can see her struggling to speak Swahili with her kids.

But one could see how hard it was for the kids to respond in Kenya's official language. Nana then expressed her frustration in the caption that accompanied the post.

"I swear we speak Swahili in the house...I just don’t know how these kids don’t understand it...Geezy and Iroma don’t want no parts of it. Wanalenga wasifikiwe..."

But she isn't giving up yet, observing that a Kiswahili teacher was needed pronto,

"Anyway, Kiswahili teacher needed..."

Nana's plight isn't something uncommon in many 'modern' homes. Former Capital FM presenter Anita Nderu once revealed that she struggles to speak Kiswahili.

In a 2019 interview with the Wicked Edition, she explained that the reason for this was that they didn't speak it in her home.

“I’ve done my best to learn the language I can understand the language. I can speak it but I don’t sound the way you are supposed to sound if you are speaking the language...How I was raised, the schools I went to was never in my control it is where your parents put you it’s the things you learnt,” she narrated.

Victoria Kimani is another celeb who also struggles to speak Kiswahili because she grew up in the USA and relocated to Kenya at 16.

"I grew up in the US and I first came to Kenya when I was 16. But I went back to the US after staying here for about two years. I can understand a bit of it but cannot speak,” she told The Nation.
